Canon VIXIA HV40 HD HDV Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom Review
I have 2 canon HV30’s that I use as “B” cameras for shoot professional video (”corporate stuff”). I needed a 3rd for a recent shoot and went to buy another HV30 and noticed the price of it (at the time) was over 00 while the newer HV40 was about 0 on Amazon. So I opted for it to save money.
So my review is mostly in comparison to the HV30.

JVC Camcorder and Samsung 37" HDTV
Today I spoke to an amazing gentlemen by the name of Peter from 6Ave. He was extremely helpful and knowledegable. I had two past order based on the website stating the item was in stock (cheaper price). When I called the companies (remain nameless...I already slammed them on their reviews), anyway the item was not in stock and they both were rude. I learned a lesson when I see the word "in stock" and start calling the company (s). I saw the item again and called 6Ave they had the item in stock and I purchase 2 items from them...0.00 JVC camcorder and Samsung 37" HDTV 0.00. I was so impressed with Peter. I went through Amazon.com and located this company. From this day forward when I want to purchase through the internet, I will stick with Amazon.com and hopefully 6Ave company will appear. NO more Mom and POP companies. Great doing business with Peter!!!

Horrible
Don't waste your money. I got this camera a while back and it's been nothing but problems. Camcorder was sent back to JVC 2 times for the same apparent problem. Both times they did repair the problem but after the second time i knew that i problem had a lemon. Of course, now after the warranty is up I get a message that the operation is paused due to condensation. That's too many problems for me I will be thinking twice before buying any more JVC products.
DO NOT PURCHASE JVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the camera worked, it was nice. When the camera did not work (a longer period of time), it was aweful and expensive to fix. JVC does not care if you are having problems with your product. The only answers I rec'd from customer support were, "You pay for shipping to fix. Your problem now....goodbye." I spent over 0 on my camcorder less than 4 years ago. It has only worked a short time. Best of luck to you. I have seen hundreds of posts on independent sites with the same problem I am having, "Condensation, Please wait," and not one instance of this posting on the JVC site.

So far, pretty good...
This review is for the JVC Everio GZ-MG255. My main use of this camera is for taping during church services. After just a couple uses, my impression of this camera is that the quality of video is better than I've experienced with other small HDD cameras. Most of my shooting is in low light shooting from a distance, and I've been pleased with the results. Battery is ridiculous - if fully charged, it will last approx. 50 minutes until dead. Plan on buying an additional battery. Camera size itself is smaller than other small camcorders. For big hands, it could actually be challenging to handle the small controls. I do like that it has a joystick to use compared to just finger control. Choice between 16:9 and 4:3 is very nice. I'm still learning to use the other settings, but if you're a person that generally leaves settings on default, it seems to work very well that way, too. Would I buy this again? On my experience so far, yes - with another battery.
